Shoreline, Washington is a King County community of 53,000 found along the northern city limits of Seattle. Lake Forest Park is also a King County community, situated along the northern shore of Lake Washington. Public access to Lake Washington was improved when Lake Forest Park acquired land in 1998 for Lyon Creek Park
. The 0.75-acre plot had long been the site of a modernistic private residence. To develop the park, the city removed that structure and planted 5,000 shrubs and plants that are native to the region.
